ORAL PRESENTATION





Australia is a country located in the Southern Hemisphere on the continent of Oceania and its capital is Canberra, although the most populous city is Sydney. Australia is an island and it have around the Pacific Ocean and Indian Ocean.
Australia is divided into six states: New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia. There are also two mainland territories are the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory.
It has a population of 22 hundred million people. The Australia’s official language is English.
The system of government of Australia is a parliamentary monarchy. Their monarch is Elizabeth II, so she is Queen of the United Kingdom too.

The australian is a born competitor. They practice a lot of sports mostly water sports like rowing, sailing and Spearfishing.
But the most practised sports by the australians are surfing and rugby.
Let's start with a little bit of Australian surfing history.
In 1900, sea bathing was banned, but finally it was legalized because the people.
In the fiftis, arrived the first surfboards from the USA, and they were copied and modified to the australian style.
In the sixties, there was a surf explosion, and began the discussions between the surfers and the bathers, but surfing was gaining
importance, and finally the discussion was finished.
Now, surfing is very professional because the Gold Coast with its 10 points waves, one after another. A lot of professionals of this
sport have been created in australia like Mark Richards and Rabbit Bartholomew. Thanks to them surfing has become a professional sport.
The best season to practice this sport is between December and April because the cyclones in the summer.
I have talked about the best seasons to surf, but where? Now best beches of australia:
South Stradbroke Island: It is a well-packed, sandy island. It is sparsely populated, with Ferry that connects to the mainland.
The beach is a Beach Break, semi-desert and very clean and beautiful. The bottom is white sand, and the size of the waves is ideal
from 3 to 6 feet.
Broadbeach: It's a set of different beaches all whose names change according to the neighborhood before them. They're protected by
an anty shark net. Is really good because is part of goald coast.
Burleigh Heads: is Internationally famous rock-bottom and sand mixed. The waves are perfect, very long and tubular. Ensures waves of 15 feet or more.
Is always full because it's urban, but if you go early, you can enjoy for more than half an hour.
Palm Beach: Is a long beach, perfecto for the begginers because the waves are not too big. There's a river where the surfers usually meet.
Byron bay: it was the Mecca for surfers and hippies in the sixtis and seventys. Is obligatory to visit it, if you are a surfer or not, because is beuatiful and has less
than tuelve thousand of population. You can still see hippies in the streets. Is One of the mos important places of australia.
Rugby is the most popular sport in Australia, and there are 3 divisions: Rugby Union, Australian Rules and Rugby League. The truth though they look alike,
each has different rules. A large majority of Australians calls Rugby "Footy". Rugby has the same importance for an Australian than the football for the europeans.
The selection of rugby in Australia represents the country in oficial competitions . is controlled by the Australian Rugby Union. It is one of the most competitive
rugby teams in the world. Holds the record (along with the selection of South Africa) to have won the Rugby World Cup in separate occasions, the only team in the world
to have achieved the championship in 1991 and 1999 editions.
The wallaby is the animal representative of the Australian team in rugby
The time period when only Aboriginal people resided in Australia- prior to the invasion of the Europeans is known as Dreamtime is a term used to describe the mystical time
when the Aboriginal people established their world. The myths are seen as being absolutely truthful and inhabit everyone in the Australian culture. These myths are comparable
to the American mythology and explain the creation of natural things such as the sun, etc. The Aboriginal Dreamtime is part of the culture that explains the origins of the
people and of the land. Dreamtime includes a story of how things have happened, how the universe came to be, how humans were created, and how the Creator intended for humans to function in this world. Essentially, Dreamtime is the Aboriginal Religion and Culture .

Australia has free-market economy with the post number 11 of the highest GDP per capita in the world, up from UK, Germany and France.
The Human Development Index is the second highest in the world, after Norway.
With the government of Bob Hawke, the Australian dollar walked away to financial system. So that the global crisis, Australia has not been affected. The Bob Hawke financiered system has been rehabilitated over the years.
In Australia the primary sector comprises between 3% and 5% of GDP and tertiary sector 69% of GDP. Unemployment in Australia is 4.1%.
Australia exports a major way to Japan, China, the United States, South Korea and New Zealand. It is the world's Fourth largest exporter of wine.
The currency in Australia is the Australian Dollar.




SELF-AVALUATION:
The oral presentation was pretty good, although I would have liked that out better.
This time wasn't as nervous like the first, but I couldn't preparare enough and did not go as I wished. I think I still came out pretty well.
My note would be half a point.
