THE PARTY OF CHESTNUT, THE CASTANYADA

The 31th of October in Catalonia we celebrate the party of chestnut (in catalan is "Castanyada").

In this party, people roast chestnuts on the fire and they eat it. It's so delicious. I like it so much.

In my school, the children go to schoolyard and every class sit in a circle. Before the child made sachets for they introduce the chestnut. The techer bring chestnut for her/his students.

The oldest students girls dress up of castanyera and they help the teachers of nursery school to share out chestnut. In my last year in the school, I dress up of castanyera and it was very funny. Some children were afraid me.

During the last years the castanyada is being lost because of Halloween. The childs prefer sweets to chestnut. I hope that this party isn't lost, because it's very funny and beautiful.

This year, Clara invited us to her place to celebrate the chestnut holiday. We did chestnuts in the fire, we ate it and pizzas and we drank beer, Fanta, Coca-Cola,...

The Castanyada in Clara's house was very funny, we ate a lot and we laughed so much. It was a good time.
