The Spanish government will provide 30 bn euros to banks unable to service their loans. Then, the banks will have to repay the money with interest at 10%.
Currently, 45% of Bankia belongs to the Spanish government. Bankia had a loan of 4.476 bn euros bailout fund into action.
If banks demand money to the government, banks would become partial state ownership.
After the reform, the Madrid Stock Exchange fell 3%.
The Commission notes that the Spanish deficit this year is 6.4% and next year will be 6.3%. Instead, the Spanish government indicates that the deficit this year is 5.3% and next year will be 3%. The government said the loan wouldn't have any effect on the deficit.
