FINAL REFLECTION: MY ENGLISH PROGRESS

My first composition and my last composition don't varied so much, only I think is my fluency when I write. The difference between my oral presentations is the fluency and my pronuntation, because the first I prepareted a lot and the second not much.
In my blog I use a lot of resources (multimedia, links,..), but I repeted my topics (music, medicine,...). I structured good my ideas. Sometimes I varied vocabulary. In my oral presentations I use resources, like powerpoint, my body lenguage is a little bad, but I have a good structure and my ideas have good organized and my vocabulary is very rich. But I pronunced bad some words. In my writtings I have good structure, contents and connectors, but I think that I need improve my vocabulary.

FINAL REFLECTION: MY ENGLISH COMPETENCE IN 2012

BEST ORAL PRESENTATION:  http://emmaslike.blogspot.com.es/2011/11/oral-presentation.html
BEST WRITTEN:  http://emmaslike.blogspot.com.es/2012/03/can-internet-make-world-better-place.html

I have chosen this oral presentation because it was the best of the two that I have done this year. I think it's my best presentation because although it was boring, I didn't read anything and I spoke very fluently.
Then, I have chosen this written because I did it in class, without dictionaries or translators that could help me, and the truth is that the result has been very good. I am very proud of that.
What makes better my oral presentation is to prepare it most, so I don't read anything and I improve my speaking. What makes better my writtings are connectors that improve my mark.

THE HUNGER GAMES

The other day I went to the cinema with my boyfriend to see The Hunger Games.

All starts with a the Dark Days, when districts fought for survival and out of decay. The Capitol, thanks to its advanced technologies, achieved the submission of twelve districts and the annihilation of the thirteenth, and to remind everyone that the Dark Days mustn't be repeated they created The Hunger Games, a competition in which a boy and a girl between twelve and eighteen years of each district must fight to the death.
At harvest of the participants (or tributes) of the Hunger Games, Katniss is provided voluntarily to save her sister Prim from certain death. Katniss and his partner district, Peeta Mellark, they venture to some games where they could die in seconds.
Everything changes when Peeta and Katniss are forced to feign love for the entertainment of the Capitol, but in an act to be both survivors, are seen as icons of the rebels. (I don't want explain the final).

I recommend watching this movie, because it is not the typical movie now out in cinemas. A long time since I last saw a movie so decent. I went to the cinema with an idea, but the truth I went with a different idea of starting and with a smile on my face because I had not disappointed at all. If the movie is good, I suppose the books will be much better. When I have time I'll read.

PEP GUARDIOLA

A few weeks ago Pep Guardiola said goodbye to Barcelona.
After so many doubts about his renewal, the other day left the Barça fans with a sad face after his retirement as coach of Barcelona.
Pep Guardiola has been the best coach in club history because of seventeen titles they could win, and they won thirteen (and fourteen if htey win the King Cup). The first year of Pep, Barcelona won all the titles that could win this season, six.
Now the club has left the team in the hands of Tito Vilanova, current assistant coach of Barcelona. Pep has been quiet with the club's decision, since it said that Tito is the ideal person to be the new coach.
After so many victories sung with Pep Guardiola, left us to "fill up" again.

 GUARDIOLA GOODBYE.

SELECTIVITY

I AM VERY NERVOUS!

Missing a month to selectivity. For those who don't know is, selectivity is a series of tests that have to do to enter university.
From now on, this will be a race without breaks. I will test after test, I will study as many hours as my body allows. If necessary I will drink coffee (I hate coffee).
I want to get good marks in order to access the career I want to do. I think if you study a career you have to study what you like.
Anyway, I hope everything goes well. If so, I will take valerian to relax, because there is still a month and I'm nervous yet.

Some agencies are in favor, as FDA, AIDS Vaccine Advocacy or Terrance Higgins Trust, AIDS patients currently have to take a drug cocktail with this drug with a single pill is enough. Furthermore, not only struggle with those who are already sick, it's also a preventive drug.
Other agencies such, as AIDS Healthcare Foundation or nurse Karen Haughey, as it's a treatment that should always be taken because it has no effect, and it's doubtful that patients don't ever forget the pill. Another fear is that if approved the drug, people stop using condoms as thinking it's a 100% secure or HIV virus will be more resistant to drugs.

DEMI LOVATO

A few days ago, MTV made a program about Demi Lovato. Well, I'll tell you about that was because it was very interesting. Demi Lovato had a nervous breakdown when she was doing a tour with Jonas Brothers in October of 2010. For that reason, she can't follow the tour and her parents took her directly to a psychiatric center where she stayed three months. Demi, coming out of recovery, not only took out a new album Unbroken, furthermore she told her story. Demi explained her history in order to help teenagers who are going through the same problems.

The truth about Demi Lovato is that since she was five years old, she felt wrong with her body, something which led her to eat nothing or eat a lot and then she feel guilty and finally she vomiting or hurt herself. When she was in recovery, her fans always said her the same thing Stay Strong. For that reason, when Demi came out of recovery she tattooed on her wrists this sentence. Another reason for she tattooed was to cover scars that she was done when she hurts herself.

Demi says that is not yet recovered, because the recovery is a constant struggle. In the video you can see Demi begins to obsess for the amount of food she eats at Thanksgiving and she is holding with calls to friends. But anxiety will reappear the next day and she has concert. Before the concert, she does backstage (that is when fans taking photos with her and know her in person) and one of his fans have cancer and when the girl sees her, she says that thanks to Demi she wears a wig. At that time, the heart of Demi and yours shrinks and you think God! Thanks to that girl, Demi put aside her anxiety.

Thanks to Demi didn't save her history and she used to help adolescents, there are many people who have gone to recovery because they thought If Demi, who is famous, explained it, I can do it and they will throw courage to tell their parents their problems.

Here I left the video link of her interview: http://www.mtv.es/programas/demi-lovato-stay-strong/
I think that is interesting that you see, because is a reflexion of all problems of this world.

INFORMAL LETTER

Hi JB!
Thank you for your birthday present. I loved the book Death of a Beekeeper by Lars Gustafsson. It's so interesting, you should read it.
The book is very quick to read and discusses various theories about why bees are dying and the consequences that would bring the world, not only the death of a beekeeper, you already know and already what would be your answer.
As this issue of the bugs you so interested, I think you should have the book gift to yourself and not me, because you know I hate them. But then again, THANKS!
I have really wanted to see you. I hope that these months pass soon and I get back with you in our favorite city talking until late at night.
 With love, BJ.

A FORMAL LETTER

United Nations Human                                             C/ Sant Pere Martir 7
Rights Committee                                            Castelló d'Empúries, 17486
New York                                                           Girona. Catalonia. Spain

                                                                            20th of March of 2012

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter to complain about some aspects of Article 26 of the Declaration of Human Rights and education in my country.
In my country, primary and secondary school has always been free (as indicated by the first paragraph of Article 26 of the Declaration of Human Rights) and it remains so even if we ignore that since I entered the secondary school, I pay 30 Euros for "teaching material" each year.
But unfortunately in Spain, public education does not have the same quality as 10 years ago. The reason has been the crisis and our government (and many other countries) has made cuts in the education sector, so that we can not have as many teachers, as many classrooms or as many free teaching material that we need.
So my claim is that in the Declaration of Human Rights put that although a country is in crisis public education not only has to be free, but also quality.

Yours Faithfully,

The light of the moon.

DESCRIPTION OF PERSON THAT MAKES YOU AN IMPRESSION

PABLO

I met Pablo for the first time in 4th of ESO. He was fifteen and he was from Barcelona. He was quite tall, brown-eyed, he had big ears, a good nose, he had brown-hair, big hands and spoke strange Catalan. We went to the same class in computer studies and we became friends a little time after meeting. Pablo made an impression to me because I never met a person like him. He’s a careless person, he doesn’t matter anything and everything is good. He’s never angry with anybody, id he doesn’t like someone, he ignores him or her, and it’s fine. He always smiles and laughs, he’s a good-hearted person and when you are with him, he makes you feel good. Pablo is an incredible person and I never regret having met him.

GIVE YOUR HEART A BREAK

Give a heart a break is a song of Demi Lovato of her last album Unbroken
This song is about when a relationship isn't healthy and things aren't going well, but they want to stay together because they love each other and don't want to separate.
This song gives you a solution give a heart a break. Just leave the relationship for a while and let the flames of love bloom again, because it isn't worth wasting time discussing or being angry with each other. If they really love, they will see that they were arguing over stupid things, they forget and will return together.
The first time I heard the song, I really liked the pace and I heard several times. Then, I started to lay down the lyrics of the song and at first sight seemed to me not very romantic, because I lacked vocabulary, for example "a break" did not know that means "a breath", only knew the meaning of "smash". For that reason, I looked translation and I understood everything. So thanks to this song, I expanded my English vocabulary.
I love this song and I agree with the lyrics. There is very little time in life and we don't discuss
Here I leave the letter:

The day I first met you
You told me you'd never fall in love
But now that I get you
I know fear is what it really was
Now here we are, so close, yet so far
Haven't I passed the test?
When will you realize
Baby, I'm not like the rest

Don't wanna break your heart
I wanna give your heart a break
I know you're scared it's wrong
Like you might make a mistake
There's just one life to live
And there's no time to waste, to waste
So let me give your heart a break
Give your heart a break
Let me give your heart a break
Your heart a break
Oh, yeah yeah
On Sunday, you went home alone
There were tears in your eyes
I called your cell phone, my love
But you did not reply
The world is ours, if you want it
We can take it, if you just take my hand
There's no turning back now
Baby, try to understand

Don't wanna break your heart
Wanna give your heart a break
I know you're scared it's wrong
Like you might make a mistake
There's just one life to live
And there's no time to waste, to waste
So let me give your heart a break
Give your heart a break
Let me give your heart a break
Your heart a break
There's just so much you can take
Give your heart a break
Let me give your heart a break
Your heart a break
Oh, yeah yeah

When your lips are on my lips
And our hearts beat as one
But you slip right out of my fingertips
Every time you run, whoa

Don't wanna break your heart
Wanna give your heart a break
I know you're scared it's wrong
Like you might make a mistake
There's just one life to live
And there's no time to waste, to waste
So let me give your heart a break

 Cuz you've been hurt before
I can see it in your eyes
You try to smile it away
Some things, you can't disguise

Don't wanna break your heart
Baby, I can ease the ache, the ache
So, let me give your heart a break
Give your heart a break
Let me give your heart a break
Your heart a break
There's just so much you can take
Give your heart a break
Let me give your heart a break
Your heart a break
Oh yeah,yeah

The day I first met you
You told me you'd never fall in love

LADY GAGA CONCERT

On December 10, 2010, I went to Barcelona to see a Lady Gaga concert of her tour "Moster Ball Tour". Yesterday tickets went on sale for her concert in Barcelona to her new tour "The Born This Way Ball Tour" and I was so eager to go that I've done the impossible in order to attend and I have talked to many people. Finally, I got the ticket and I will go! I'm so excited ...
Everyone thinks I'm crazy why the ticket cost me around 100 euros, but I like it so much that if I had more money I would purchase the most expensive ticket to go into the stands more privileged and I have VIP tickets to see her in person .
In my opinion, I think everyone should go to all the concerts of their favorite artists because it's an experience not to be explained. You can buy the DVD coming out of the tour, but it will not be the same feeling.
I promise that I upload the photos!

NEWS: US: Investigate New York Police Surveillance of Muslims

The police of New York is being investigated for possible discrimination against muslims. There have been several reports of mulsames explaining that police discriminated them for their religion, but the government has come out in defense of police of New York claiming that only they did their job. So the Depertamento of Justice, accepting human rights laws signed by U.S., is investigating the case.

In Spain, there aren't discrimination against muslims ofr the part of police, but the spanish people and uneducated are racists.
I think that this situation can change if we educated the people in tolerance and against racism. I'm not racist because I has been good educated.
